If you are imaginative and enjoy creating beautiful indoor spaces, a career as an interior designer could be a perfect fit.

In this program, you'll learn to blend creativity with technical elements to design residential and commercial interiors. Courses in both science and art—combined with hands-on practice in the studio— will build your professional skills in problem solving, drawing, textiles and materials, sustainable design practices, computer-aided design and other areas essential for success in the field

Whether you want to continue your education at a four-year institution—or you plan to enter the field immediately—a degree from this program will help prepare you for opportunities in interior design and architecture firms, home improvement stores, furniture stores, specialty design shops and other organizations in the industry.

1. Students will have the ability to interpret a client's needs and programmatic requirements, functional attributes, aesthetic considerations, and architectural conditions for the design of interior spaces.
2. Students will demonstrate the ability to resolve complex design challenges using critical
thinking, research, industry specific knowledge and industry standard technology.
3. Students will be able to effectively convey design problems and solutions through written, graphic and oral communication techniques.

You and your advisor will use this program map as a starting point in creating your own personal education plan, customized to your needs and goals.
